The Liar is Capilano University’s independent literary zine. Since 1987, the zine has been edited, designed, and produced by a rotating group of students. Published bi-annually (but only one, bigger than usual Spring edition this year: no Fall edition.

The Liar  has traditionally taken submissions twice yearly, in the fall semester and in the spring, from writers on campus and beyond, but during the Fall ’16/Spring ’17 academic year, we are just having one big call for the sole edition this year, to be released on April 10.

The deadline is February 1, & we are accepting from now till then. The Liar takes cutting edge new works in all genres.

The Liar accepts poetry, fiction, nonfiction, microfiction, prose and all other types of word-art as well as black & white 2D  visual art.
